ClosetMaid is only as good as you wish. For a broad platform, design your own system is not so bad. But, if not design, and install it in a way that is best for you and working space, then it is better than nothing.

There is nothing wrong with the materials used in the system ClosetMaid. It's in your closet, would be a waste of money to do all the faces in hardwood and bronze. Almost the only complaints I heard from ClosetMaid is inadequate, but not work for me, etc. .. Basically, people are not the measure of individual performance, planning and installation.

Try some or all of these ideas to the design process:
Get a Design Guidelines (available at Lowes, Home Depot, etc ...) and measure your space. Walk in your area, as it is now. Take his clothes and drag a small shelf or cabinet, where you think you may want to shelves. (If you do not) on a shelf of books, with a large cardboard box that the walls with duct tapesuch as clothing rods and shelves everywhere. They intend to use the imaginary shelves.

Good Luck
